Angels in America:
A Gay Fantasia on National Themes
By Tony Kushner
Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes is a two-part play by American playwright Tony Kushner. The play revolves around 1980s AIDS epidemic, the conflict between change and constancy, highlighting the different paths that shape the perspectives of people. It also holds the importance of community and where can people find a shard of optimism that sometimes might not even be rooted in realism but hope, even when it looks bleak.
Angels in America played at Broadway in 2018. Find out more about Tony Kushner’s thought process here.
